Travel Options

The principle travel options are as follows:

  • Fly from the UK directly to Avignon (Flybe are operating direct flights from Southampton and Exeter). Flights start from around £80 per person return. Avignon Airport is around 5 miles from the city centre.
  • Fly from the UK to Nimes (Ryanair operate from Luton, Liverpool and Nottingham). Flights start from £55 per person return. Nimes is around 35 miles from Avignon; there is no direct rail route, but we can arrange a hire car for you. Please contact us for a quotation for your preferred grade of car.
  • Fly from the UK to Marseille (Airlines operating to Marseille include, Ryanair, Easyjet, BMIbaby and British Airways). Flights start from around £49 per person return. It is approximately 50 miles from Marseille airport to Avignon; there is no direct rail route, but we can arrange a hire car for you. Please contact us for a quotation for your preferred grade of car.
  • Travel by Eurostar and TGV (high speed train). Avignon TGV is around 2 ½ hours from Paris (or 4 hours from Lille). Tickets from London can be arranged via Grape Escapes and start at £119 per person. To obtain the cheapest fares, we need to receive your booking 4 months in advance of travel.
  • Ferry / Eurotunnel crossing from Dover or Folkestone to Calais and then drive down to Avignon. The drive from Calais is circa 600 miles. Grape Escapes can arrange a ferry or tunnel crossing for you. Plese contact us for a price for your preferred crossing
