You've reached a milestone in your life and want to celebrate your birthday with friends and family. But you want it to be an extra special , once in a lifetime celebration that won't be forgotten. Oh, and you want to involve fine wines!

Well, a wine tasting tour over a long weekend is perfect for this. Whether it is for 4 or 40 people (or even more), we can arrange your perfect celebratory birthday tour.

Just tell us your favourite wines - either the region generally, or a particular winery or Champagne House, and we will do all the rest. However, if you are new to wine, then why not try somthing based around our Prestige Champagne Weekend - a perfect introduction to the most famous of wines.

We recently helped someone celebrate their 60th birthday in style, in the heart of the Champagne region, with 27 of their closest friends and family. This is what they did.

60th Birthday Wine Tour Celebration:

Friday

• Met at Paris Gare du Nord by private coach
• Coach transfer from Paris Gare du Nord directly to Epernay
• Check into 19th century boutique hotel, originally built as the private residence for one of the larger, presitious Champagne families
• Freshen up, enjoy a welcome drinks reception in the hotel conservatory, then take the short walk to dinner (we arranged a reservation for 28 people at one of our favourite restaurants in Epernay, and arranged a bespoke menu for the group)

Saturday

• Start the day with breakfast at the hotel
• Met at your hotel by a Grape Escapes guide and a luxury coach
• First visit was to a larger prestigious Champagne house in Reims. The Champagne House is built over the historic chalk crayeres extracted by the Romans and the visit included a tour through some of these pits + 2 tastings. Options include Ruinart, Taittinger, Pommery and Veuve Clicquot
• After this, a light lunch was enjoyed at a café in the main square in Reims, washed down with wine, water and coffee
• After lunch, the group visited a smaller Champagne House producing Grand Cru Champagnes located in one of the villages among the vineyards. Here they saw first hand, the full Champagne making process from vine to bottle before tasting at least 3 of their Champagnes (including a vintage Champagne)
• Following this visit, there was a couple of hours to relax and freshen up at the hotel prior to the celebration dinner
• In the evening, the group were taken to a final Champagne House where they started the evening by learning the Napoleonic art of Sabrage (opening the Champagne bottle with a sword). After the guests had opened some Champagne, they enjoyed a gala 5 course dinner as the guests of this Champagne House. The meal was accompanied by a selection of their Champagnes (paired to the meal)
• At the conclusion of the evening, the coach took the group back to the hotel

Sunday

• A leisurely breakfast was taken, followed by a relaxing morning at the hotel
• Coach transfer from the hotel to Paris Gare du Nord for the return Eurostar
