Based at the stunning 5* Relais & Château property, Château de Berne, this Hidden Gem break offers a truly luxurious experience in an enchanting Provençal setting. At the heart of the lovely vineyards, you will enjoy a relaxing change of scene as well as sample some colourful local rosé wines. The Château de Berne is a prestigious 18th Century building located on-site at a celebrated wine-making estate, which offers a refined and elegant environment in which to rest and unwind.
After checking into your preferred room at the Château, the first afternoon and evening will be free to relax and enjoy the hotel’s superb facilities.
On the morning of day two, you will be taken on a tour of the Château’s historical winery, which is almost three centuries’ old. You will firstly be taken for a leisurely stroll in the vineyards followed by a tour of the wine-making facilities to witness first-hand the wine-making process from press to bottle. At the end of the tour, enjoy a tutored tasting session of six wines accompanied by the local delicacies, tapenade and anchoiade. You will then have some free time for lunch and perhaps a dip in the beautiful outdoor pool in the afternoon.
On day three, you will be met at the Château by an executive chauffeured vehicle, which will accompany you throughout the day on a private basis. You will firstly be taken to an authentic Provençal winery. Your visit here will comprise of a tour of the estate’s vineyards and wine-making facilities, followed by tastings of the estate’s red, white and rosé wines. You will then visit an 18th Century wine-making Château for a tour of its Grand Cru Classé winery, including its stunning underground cellars dating back to the Middle-Ages.
The fascinating tour will be followed by tastings of six of the Château’s wines and a delicious picnic lunch will be served in the picturesque setting of the Château’s grounds. After lunch, you will be taken to a third local estate for a full tour of their facilities as well as extensive tastings of their wines. You will then be taken back to the Château at the end of the day. In the evening, a six course wine tasting dinner will be served in the Château’s Michelin-starred restaurant. Each course will be perfectly paired with a local wine.
