Trip Summary

On day two, you will be met at the hotel by an English-speaking specialist chauffeur/guide, who will accompany you throughout the day on a private tour of the famous vineyards of the Médoc in a Mercedes S Class vehicle. Guests are free to choose their preferred three Châteaux for tours and tastings. The Grape Escapes Bordeaux specialists are happy to offer advice and make suggestions if you would prefer. Please note that a number of the more exclusive estates do not tend to receive visitors at weekends and some of them do not receive visitors at all. We would be pleased to discuss the various options with you and contact the individual estates accordingly. Fronted by none other than world-famous celebrity Chef Gordon Ramsay, enjoy a splendid six course dinner in the opulent dining room of the hotel’s gastronomic restaurant in the evening. Drinks have not been included as part of the package and can be ordered directly with the sommelier. Please note that this restaurant is closed Sunday and Monday and shall be substituted with a suitable alternative.

On day three, you will enjoy three further tours and tastings at your selected Châteaux in Saint-Emilion. You will again be met at your hotel by your private luxury Mercedes S Class vehicle and English-speaking driver/guide. In the evening a four course dinner with a selection of fine wines, water and coffee will be served in La Tupina, a very special authentic restaurant, which was rated the second best brasserie in the world by the New York Times.

On day four, we will arrange First Class high-speed rail travel for you between Bordeaux and Paris. Here, check in into a Junior Suite at the prestigious 5* Hotel Napoleon which is located very close to the Arc de Triomphe, at the top of the famous Champs-Elysées Avenue. Your Junior Suite will boast breathtaking views across the romantic Parisian skyline.

On day five, you will be taken on a private transported tour of the enchanting city of Paris in an executive vehicle. You will be taken to the must-see sights of the city, including Place de la Bastille (the iconic square of the French revolution), the stunning Notre-Dame Cathedral, the Louvre Museum, the characterful and romantic Montmartre district and its Sacré Coeur Cathedral, but also the impressive Eiffel Tower and the renowned Avenue des Champs Elysées! In the afternoon, you will be given the great opportunity to visit the impressive Château de Versailles and its breath-taking gardens, home of the magnificent Sun King and a true symbol of the French monarchy. In the evening, your time in Paris will end in style with a gala dinner with drinks followed by a spectacular French cabaret show at the world-famous Moulin Rouge.

After checking out of your hotel in Paris on day six, you will again be transported throughout the day in the Champagne region. Your tour will start at Moët and Chandon in Epernay, where you will be welcomed as VIP guests. Here, you will be taken on a private Dom Pérignon tour, visiting some of the oldest areas of the cellars which are seldom visited by the public. A tasting of Dom Pérignon will conclude the visit in an elegant reception room at the Moët mansion. During the course of the day, you will also be taken to the beautiful village of Hautvillers, where Dom Pérignon lived and is buried. Here, you will enjoy a comparative tasting session of three single varietal Champagnes, accompanied by a platter of gourmet local delicacies. In the afternoon, you will visit a small, family-run Grand Cru Champagne House for a tour of the fascinating Champagne-making process from press to bottle and the opportunity to learn the Napoleonic art of Sabrage (opening a bottle with a sabre). You will be taken to the 5* Château les Crayères at the end of the day, where you will be spending the night in a Superior room. In the evening, a gastronomic six course tasting dinner will be served at the Château’s Michelin starred restaurant, “Le Parc”. Dinner will be accompanied by a bottle of premium Champagne, a half bottle of Bordeaux AOC wine, water and coffee.

On day seven, you will be privately transferred to Paris in time for your Air France flight to Nice. Upon arrival in Provence, you will be met at the airport by a chauffeur, who will escort you to the stunning Château Saint-Martin. The remainder of the day as well as the next day will be free for you to relax and enjoy the hotel’s superb facilities.

After breakfast on day nine, you will be met at the hotel by a luxury chauffeured vehicle, which will accompany you throughout the day on a private basis. You will firstly be welcomed as the guests of a local family-run winery. Following a full tour of the estate, seeing first-hand the fascinating wine-making process from vine to bottle, an extensive tasting session will ensue. A picnic lunch will have been prepared for you here, and this can be enjoyed in a picturesque spot in the Château’s grounds.

You will then be taken to the city of your choice for an afternoon of sight-seeing. We particularly recommend visiting Saint Tropez, the destination of the international jet set, where you can marvel at the biggest and most luxurious Yachts you will ever see, and enjoy a spot of people-watching on the bustling beaches. You will be taken back to the hotel at the end of the day. In the evening, a gourmet dinner (excluding drinks) will be served at the Château’s gastronomic restaurant.

Day ten will be free for you to explore your charming surrounding independently, and you will be transferred to Nice airport or train station on day eleven after checking out of the hotel.

Day Four

• After a leisurely breakfast, check out of the hotel.
• You will be transferred to Bordeaux train station in a luxury chauffeured vehicle.
• Travel First Class by high-speed train to Paris, departing at 12:21 and arriving at 15:38.
• At Paris Montparnasse station, you will be met by a luxury chauffeured vehicle, which will take you to the 5* Hotel Napoléon, perfectly located close to the Arc de Triomphe and the Avenue des Champs-Elysées.
• Here, check into a Junior Suite with amazing views across the romantic Parisian skyline.
• The remainder of the afternoon and evening will be free for you to relax and explore the city independently.
• Once again, we would be delighted to recommend a restaurant and reserve you a table for dinner if required.

Day Five

• After breakfast, you will be met at your hotel by a luxury chauffeured vehicle who will accompany throughout the day on a private basis.
• You will be taken on a tour the city’s main sights as well as the magnificent Château de Versailles.
• In the evening, you will enjoy a gala dinner with drinks followed by a cabaret show at the Moulin Rouge.

Day Six

• After breakfast, check out of the hotel.
• You will be taken to the Champagne region in an executive chauffeured vehicle, which will accompany you throughout the day.
• Starting your day in style, you will visit the largest Champagne house, Moët and Chandon, where you will have an exclusive Dom Pérignon tour. A tasting of Dom Pérignon will conclude the visit.
• You will be taken to the famous hilltop village of Hautvillers. Here, you will enjoy a comparative tasting session of three single varietal Champagnes accompanied by platters of cheeses and gourmet local delicacies.
• After lunch you will be taken to a small family-run Champagne House. As well as having a tour and tasting at the property, you will learn the Napoleonic art of Sabrage (the art of opening the Champagne bottle with a sword).
• You will be taken to the Château les Crayères at the end of the day.
• Upon arrival at the hotel, check into your Superior room.
• In the evening, a gastronomic six course tasting dinner with drinks will be served at the Château’s Michelin starred restaurant, “Le Parc”.

Day Seven

• After breakfast, check out of the hotel.
• You will be transferred to Paris Charles de Gaulle airport in a luxury vehicle on time for your flight to Nice. You will be flying with Air France.
• A private chauffeured car will welcome you at the airport and drive you to your hotel.
• Upon arrival at the 5* Château Saint-Martin, check into a Classic room.
• The remaining of the afternoon and evening will be free for you to enjoy your hotel’s superb facilities.

Day Eight

• Free day to relax in your enchanting Provençal setting.

Day Nine

• After breakfast, you will be met at your hotel by a luxury chauffeured vehicle, which will accompany you throughout the day on a private basis.
• You will first enjoy a tour and tastings with a picnic lunch at a small, family-run wine-making Château.
• You will then be taken to the city of your choice for the afternoon. We recommend spending some time in the famous summer resort of Saint-Tropez.
• You will be taken back to the hotel at the end of the day.
• In the evening, a gourmet dinner (excluding drinks) will be served at the Château’s gastronomic restaurant.

Day Ten

• Free day to relax at your hotel or explore your lovely surroundings.

Day Eleven

• After a leisurely breakfast, check out of the hotel.
• You will be taken to Nice airport or to the train station by a private chauffeured vehicle.

Package Prices

• These prices are per person and based on two people travelling together and sharing a twin or double room.
• These are realistic guide prices, based on travel in standard season (usually April to the end of October). Considerable discounts often apply for travel out of season (usually November to the end of March) or if there are more than two of you travelling together. Please let us know your preferred travel dates for a definitive price.
• Although we propose specific hotels as part of our standard packages, we enjoy excellent relationships and preferential rates at the majority of the hotels in each of our featured destinations. Therefore if you would prefer to stay in a different hotel, this can be arranged. Please contact us for the relevant supplements/discounts.
• Other room grades are available at most of the hotels that we work with. Just let us know which hotel you prefer and we will send you the relevant supplements for the various room grades.
