This Bank Holiday Champagne break offers you the opportunity to discover the Champagne region on the bank holiday weekends in May.
Upon arrival at your preferred hotel, check into your room and spend a relaxing evening in the city.
In the morning of day two, you will be met at your hotel by a chauffeured mini-coach and your Grape Escapes guide, who will accompany you throughout the day on small group basis. En route to the Champagne vineyards, your guide will regale you with tales and anecdotes of the history of Champagne and its vineyards, introducing you to the particularities of the region. You will firstly visit a small, family-run producer of Champagnes for a full tour of the fascinating Champagne-making process from press to bottle, and at least three tastings including vintage Champagne. You will then be taken to the famous hilltop village of Hautvillers, the “cradle of Champagne”. As well as having time to admire the spectacular views across the vineyards and visit the Church where Dom Pérignon is buried, a comparative tasting session of three single varietal Champagnes will take place in a quaint tasting boutique in the village. Platters of cheeses and gourmet local delicacies will also be served.
After lunch, you will visit a second smaller Champagne House in another of the principle regions in Champagne. The visit here will include a shorter tour followed by tastings of several Champagnes in contrasting style to the Champagnes tasted during the morning. To end the day in style, you will visit the largest and grandest of Champagne Houses- Moët and Chandon. Here, a knowledgeable representative will accompany you around the estate and through the extensive cellars. Your visit will conclude with flutes of the latest Moët white and rosé Grand Vintages.
You will be taken back to your hotel at the end of the day.

My weekend in Reims was excellent and I appreciate the effort Grape Escapes made towards making the experience an excellent one.
