Recent Ferrari Owners Club Champagne Trip:
We recently had the privilege of working with a Ferrari Owners Club to arrange a driving and wine tour of France. Here are the highlights of their trip:
Day One
- Drive down to Dover
- Dover to Calais ferry crossings with P&O
- Drive from Calais to Reims (either motorway or via the sites and battlefields of northern France)
- Check into your hotel, a 4* chateau style hotel in the suburbs
- Free time to enjoy the hotel and it’s facilities or to explore the city of Reims or some of the surrounding villages
- Free time for dinner
Day Two
- Breakfast at your hotel
- Leave the hotel for the scenic drive to a small Grand Cru Champagne House. Your visit here will include a full tour of the Champagne making process from vine to bottle and tastings of at least 3 Champagnes
- Continue into Epernay where you will have free time for lunch
- After lunch, visit the prestigious house of Moet and Chandon for a private tour away from other visitors, where you will see some of their 26km of cellars. This tour will be followed by a glass of Dom Perignon served by a sommelier in one of the elegant reception rooms in the Moet mansion (an exclusive tour not available to the general public)
- Return to the hotel to freshen up for dinner
- Free time for dinner
Day Three
- Breakfast at the hotel
- Visit the oldest Champagne House. The visit starts with a tour through their 1600 year old cellars (old chalk pits dug by the Romans which are now a classified monument) and finishes with a glass of one of their Prestige Cuvees
- Free time to continue into the city centre of Reims. Possibly visit the UNESCO classified cathedral and adjoining palace where 25 kings of France were crowned or just stop for a light lunch in the square
- Drive back to Calais at leisure
- Calais to Dover ferry crossing
