Travel Options

Bordeaux is situated in the South East of France.

Given the wide range of travel options, the base price for our public tours doesn’t include any travel. The principle options are as follows:

  • Fly to Bordeaux - There are direct flights from Gatwick (British Airways), Luton (Easyjet), Manchester (BMI Baby), Birmingham (BMI Baby), Bristol (Easyjet), Southampton (Flybe) and Dublin (Aer Lingus)
  • Travel by Eurostar and TGV (high speed train) - Bordeaux is around 3 hours from Paris by train giving a total journey time of around 6 ½ hours from London. Grape Escapes can book this for you if you wish – the supplement starts at £119 per person – the train prices increase as departure date nears so early booking is recommended. Best prices are available 4 months prior to date of travel
  • Brittany Ferries to St Malo or Caen. The drive from St Malo is around 4 ¾ hours hours and Caen is around 5 ½ hours from Bordeaux. Grape Escapes can book your ferry crossing if required. In particular, the overnight crossing from Portsmouth to St Malo is particularly recommended
