Saturday

After a leisurely breakfast at your hotel, you will make your way to the riverfront in Bordeaux for your day of tasting some of the top wines from across the region.

100 Grand Cru Châteaux

You will have a full day to taste as many Grand Cru Classé wines from the region as you wish. We will have over 100 Chateau owners under the same roof for you to talk to as you taste their wines. These estates will include premium Grand Cru Classé equivalent estates from across the Medoc, Graves, Sauternes, St Emilion and Pomerol. All the chateaux will have their 2007 vintage for you to try, as well as a second vintage from between 1998 and 2006. The Chateaux taking part in the Premium Claret Tasting Weekend will be from the following:

Margaux - including Brane-Cantenac, Giscours and Kirwan
Saint Julien - including Beychevelle and Leoville Poyferre
Pauillac - including Comtesse de Lalande and Lynch-Bages
Saint Estephe - including Cos Labory and Lafon-Rochet
Moulis en Medoc - including Maucaillou and Poujeaux
Listrac Medoc - including Fonreaud and Fourcas-Dupre
Haut Medoc and Medoc - including Beaumont, Greysac and La Tour de By
Pessac Leognan - including Pape Clement and Carbonnieux
Graves - including Ferrande and Rahoul
Sauternes et Barsac - including Climens and Suduiraut
St Emilion - including Angelus, Figeac and Franc Mayne
Pomerol - including Beauregard and Petit Village

Château Dinner

Following this outstanding tasting opportunity, guests will have time to freshen up before the highlight of the weekend - the grand dinner. Right now, we have not yet finalised the exact chateaux we'll be visiting, however last year we arranged dinners at the following 5 premium chateaux:

Château Léoville Poyferré (Cru Classé of the Médoc region)
Château Chasse-Spleen and Château Latour Martillac (Cru Classé of the Graves region)
Château Coutet (Premier Cru Classé of the Sauternes region)
Château Canon-la-Gaffelière (Grand Cru Classé of the Saint-Emilion region)

You will dine as the guests of your chosen chateau where the owner will present and comment on his wines throughout your meal. What better way to gain first hand and intimate knowledge of the great wine estates? Our package includes two nights accommodation in a city centre Bordeaux hotel, with breakfast, and includes entrance and tastings at our Premium Claret Tasting event, plus the dinner at your choice of the above chateaux, with transport for dinner provided from central Bordeaux.
