Grape Escapes is a specialist wine tour operator. We only offer wine tours to five top French wine regions and one Spanish region and hence are experts in those regions. Meet The Wine Makers
With every Grape Escape, you will have the opportunity to visit a number of vineyards and wine makers. We know from personal experience and consistent customer feedback that the most enjoyable tours are not necessarily given by the big names but often by our carefully selected smaller growers who are passionate about their wines. We therefore organise visits to a range of wine makers both small and large, to allow you to compare for yourself - for example, we would select three wine makers that use different grape varieties or have a different 'terroir' to enable guests to experience the differences between them. On many of our tours, you will have the opportunity to meet the wine makers and learn firsthand about the numerous factors that influence the production of quality wines and of course, no tour would be complete without tasting the wines!
Unusual Wine Tour Activities
In addition to the best wine and Champagne Houses, we have access to unusual wine tour activities such as abseiling into Champagne cellars and Sabrage, (removing the cork from a Champagne bottle with a cavalry sword), as well as more conventional go karting and ropes activity courses etc.
Fine Dining
Of course, no wine tasting experience would be complete without gourmet food to accompany it. We have used our expertise to assess the best restaurants and then negotiated excellent "tasting meals" for our wine tour clients. Alternatively, we can also arrange gala dinners as the guests of prestigious Champagne Houses and classed growth Châteaux in Bordeaux if your group size is suitable.
